Pictured with Isaac – on the left, the first secretary to the WHWF Education Center and on the right – the first Chief Education Officer - all three were local children.

OUR KIDS

Isaac, pictured in the middle, is just one of many success stories WHWF is proud to have had a part in.

As a child, Isaac lived in a small, impoverished village in the forest of Mt. Kenya. His school was chosen as the first location for our rural library program. On a visit to Kenya, one of our members, Jane Gaston, who is a professional artist, spotted Isaac’s drawings and decided to help him by providing tools and books which not only helped him advance his skill, but has formed the basis of his current career.

Today, Isaac is a professional sign painter who produces artistic, high quality hand painted signs. He is in fact responsible for all the painted signs at WHWF as well as all the donor tiles. Isaac’s future would have been incredibly bleak had it not been for the early help he received and the continued support by WHWF.
